As part of this skill acceleration, students will utilize cutting-edge, industry-leading software platforms as required by select design challenges, including:

  1. Think Cell – The world’s leading PowerPoint software for consulting, it is the data visualization software used by eight of the top 10 global management consulting firms, 80 of the Fortune 100, and 9 out of 10 of the top business schools.
  2. Celonis - Celonis is the market leader for AI-driven Process Mining technology, combining data science and process science. Process Mining is one of the fastest evolving data analytics technologies that enable companies to analyze and improve their processes based on event data. Celonis holds over 90% of the world’s process mining market share and is utilized in over 2,000 of the world’s leading companies.

Project Examples

Requirements

This course places students into interdisciplinary teams to collaborate with faculty on real-world client projects serviced through the Industry Student Fellows Program. Students will conduct and provide research, build a product prototype, engage in early-stage development, be responsive in communication, and ultimately present the project to the client.

Most importantly, the course hopes to inspire and empower every student to strengthen their creative abilities regardless of their future goals. For those students who find this brave new world exciting, this course encourages students to apply for UGA’s Entrepreneurship Certificate Program.

Course Objectives, Learning Outcomes, and Project Scopes

  • Implement frameworks and process models for innovation and problem solving;
  • Apply formal innovation methods for solving problems in cross-disciplinary settings to address challenges in business or organizational settings to time and standards set by project sponsor;
  • Practice value proposition design skills on real-world projects;
  • Practice and assess competencies in project management, market research, business analysis, and product development strategy.
  • Practice written, oral, and digital communication and design skills in support of real client engagement.
