Graduate-level student-consultant groups will develop an action plan that addresses a senior leadership or management challenge currently faced by your organization.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Phase 1 - Project Plan: Students will connect with organization representative(s) to devise the project scope and prepare a detailed plan for completion of the project.

Phase 2 - Project Execution: Students will work on deliverables outlined in the project plan. Teams will periodically communicate with organization representative(s) as needed to complete project tasks.

Phase 3 - Outcome: 12 to 15 page Report: Students will submit a detailed report on the outcomes of the project.

Phase 4 – Peer Evaluation: You will evaluate your fellow team members, in terms of each person’s contribution towards successfully completing the project.

Project Examples

Beginning this May, four to five student-consultant teams will spend 130 hours per group developing a tailored strategy to address an organizational challenge of your choice.

Based on the information you provide, consultant teams will deliver an action plan that accounts for your unique circumstances and outlines a path to more efficient and productive operations.

Project examples may include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing a significant organizational change or restructuring.
  • Reducing employee turnover or absenteeism or increase workplace safety.
  • Integrating cultures in a merger or acquisition.
  • Developing an environmental sustainability plan.
  • Redesigning an internal system or process including hiring, socialization, compensation, motivation, team management, learning, and training.
  • Developing a plan to re-imagine your mission, vision, and purpose and roll it out to employees.
  • Assessing your organizational structure's fit with your organization's strategy.
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Be available for a quick phone call with the organizer to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the experience.

Provide a dedicated contact who will be available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address student’s questions or provide additional information.

Minimum of 2-4 interactions with the students in-person or remotely (approximately 4-6 hours over the duration of the project).
