Student goals and capabilities

Do you want to gain insights thorough survey and analysis? Do you have questions that you would like to ask your clients or your service users? In this project, student teams will design a survey, distribute the survey, and analyze survey data.

Surveys are a central methodology in research. Surveys allow the gathering of data from a large sample, and technology facilitates the dissemination of the survey as well as eases the collection and subsequent analysis of data. Data gathered can be used to inform policy development, evaluate program effectiveness, and identify specific needs and gaps.

In this course, students will develop and administer a survey, use appropriate quantitative analytical techniques to analyze the data collected, and produce a final report.
