This innovative program connects employers with Canadian post-secondary students for 60-hour paid projects. Students receive $1,400 CAD from Riipen upon successful project completion.
This is a private Level UP experience available only to the Concordia University of Edmonton students.
Employers
Here’s how it works:
- Request to match your project to this July - December 2024 Concordia University of Edmonton Level UP cycle. The Concordia University of Edmonton team will review and either accept your match or request slight changes.
- Once your project is matched, students will apply to work on the project with you. You will review applications, and select the student(s) that you feel will be the best fit with your project.
- The student will set the team start and end dates in collaboration with you. They will need to hit “start project” on the Riipen platform and submit all deliverables including 60 work log hours before the end date.
- The Level UP team will review their project submission & deliverables, before processing payment.

Students

Important Dates
- June - July 2024 - Employers will be invited to match their projects with Level UP. In June, the Concordia University of Edmonton team will work with employers to match projects. You will not receive any student applications during this time.
- July 2024 - Students will be invited to join Level UP. Students will apply to projects, and employers can accept or decline applications. Projects can start immediately upon acceptance.

Students
Projects require clearly defined deliverables outlined in the project description. Deliverables include the working documents and the final project uploaded for review and payment. This may encompass source code, presentations, marketing materials, etc.
To validate completion, students submit deliverables as uploaded files with a reflective note. Tangible proof or samples of completed work are necessary, with redacted deliverables if under a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

The Level UP team seeks multidisciplinary projects for students to complete in 60 hours over 2-8 weeks. Students cannot work more than 30 hours per week. Project outlines must be clear and descriptive, outlining the main goal, scope, expectations, deliverables, required skills and resources, company overview, and mentorship strategy.

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
What is the postal code of your organization?
What is the size of your organization?
Please provide your business number (BN).
If you do not have a 9-digit business number, what is the reason?
Is the leadership of your organization (founding employees/executives/etc.) a member of at least one of the following demographic groups?
To participate, you may not be an organisation that engages in partisan political activities; or a federal, provincial, territorial or municipal government or government agency; or a publicly funded post-secondary institution.
To participate, you must not be a member of the House of Commons or the Senate of Canada. By checking this box you confirm you meet this requirement.
