Expected outcomes and deliverables

There are 3 deliverables:

  • 1) Project Plan (week 4 of project): Students will work with you and the instructor and conduct preliminary research to develop a plan to address your challenge
  • 2) Status Report (week 8 of project) : Students will update you on their findings to date and confirm next steps and timing.
  • 3) Final Delivery (week 12 of project) of recommendations based on what was outlined in the project plan and reconfirmed in the status report.

Project examples

Groups of 2-3 student-consultants will work with your early stage venture on a short-term project that is important to you. The students will conduct research on the challenge or opportunity that you put forward. This could include, but is not limited to:

  • Surveying potential customers and / or consumers to evaluate your firm's market potential
  • Developing value propositions for specific market segments
  • Analyzing  a value chain
  • Developing a competitive matrix
  • Validating business models

Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

  • Q1 - Checkbox
    Be available for a phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
  • Q2 - Checkbox
    Be an early-stage venture with a product/service in the market.
  • Q3 - Checkbox
    Be available for 2 check-in meetings during the semester (about 1 hour each).
  • Q4 - Checkbox
    Be responsive to periodic emails to answer any questions or concerns that the student(s) may have as they progress.
  • Q5 - Checkbox
    Be available for a 1-hour interview at the start of semester to make sure students fully understand your company, industry and needs.
