Details

The Canadian Institute of Competency Assessors (CICA) is a newly-formed Canadian non-profit corporation established to create and promote standards for the assessment of competency in the workplace. It will certify individuals to internationally recognized standards to "raise the bar" on competency-based approaches to credentialing.

Deliverables

Overall business plan for the launch of this organization, to include:

  • Strategy for initial launch and penetration to secure some initial membership and revenues for the group
  • Marketing to include: target markets (geography, demographics), branding (high-level brand assets required, image, web/social presence requirements, ideas on how to position/promote the work and ideas of CICA | ICEC
  • Financial plan (include options on fee structure for memberships and services based on benchmarks from similar orgs)
  • Execution plan over 12 months from launch (with milestones)

Mentorship

Our directors (Dirk Volschenk and Jeff Griffiths) will be available at the Open Learning Lab (Bow Valley Square) and/or virtually to answer questions, provide guidance, and generally work with the students as they develop the plan. We will provide regular feedback (at least weekly) throughout, as well as a detailed assessment of the project and the results to MRU and TalentED
