Details

We would like students to help us with creating content that is aligned with our vision, mission, and sector.

As a start-up nonprofit, we are looking to promote our service and initiatives. We are two neuro-diverse founders and our interests are varied. Some of the work you will help us to promote is: a fundraising event for self-employment for underserved women in South Africa; the only diversity after-school program in BC; an initiative to promote cross-collaboration between the immigrant serving sector; and anti-racism dialogues in different communities.

We practice what we preach. We promote an inclusive environment where you will feel welcome and so will your ideas! We don't take ourselves too seriously, and our passion is what drives everything we do.

Ultimately, you will be working on content creation for our organization, including video, social media, and other collateral that we can use as go-to marketing tools. We'd love to hear from you.

Deliverables

To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will:

  • Help us better showcase what type of supports we can provide to the communities we serve.
  • Write blog articles, email newsletters/sequences and other content pieces on assigned topics
  • Assist with a social media video launch to promote our organization
  • Evaluate recent successful user-generated campaigns, preferably in our sector
  • Identify media outlets that are most beneficial to share our story
Mentorship

Students will work closely with the Founder who is supervising and available for questions. This will also include occasional progress meetings where adjustments to the students' tasks and duties can be made if necessary.

We believe in reciprocity, so we want to learn from you and hope to share some of our learnings as well.

Non-profit, philanthropic & civil society

An opinionated nonprofit committed to changing damaging narratives around development.

Vision

For diversity, equity, and inclusion to become more than buzzwords, we stop shying away from having difficult conversations, lean into a little discomfort and open ourselves up to the possibility that we have more to learn. Differences in opinion will no longer be deemed acts of defiance but seen for the valuable and innovative tools they are.

Mission

To facilitate meaningful community connections sparking collective action to disrupt the comfort of indifference, dismantle oppressive institutional structures, and defy the confining boxes of social expectations.
