Finding Our Power Together, an Indigenous-led non-profit organization focused on supporting Indigenous youth and communities, is facing funding challenges in our mission to prevent suicide and promote well-being. We are seeking collaboration with students to plan and execute a fundraising event to support our goals.

This project will involve:

  • Gaining a deep understanding of our organization's mission, values, and goals.
  • Developing a comprehensive budget for the fundraising event.
  • Creating a detailed action plan, including task breakdowns for volunteers.
  • Assisting in the marketing and promotion of the event to maximize participation and funding.

Bonus steps in the process could include:

  • Analyzing the event's success and recommending strategies for improvement in future fundraising initiatives.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • A thorough understanding of Finding Our Power Together’s mission, values, and goals.
  • Successful establishment and management of the event budget.
  • Development and execution of a comprehensive plan of action for the event.
  • Effective marketing and promotional strategies to ensure event success.

Bonus tasks could include:

  • Post-event analysis and recommendations for enhancing future fundraising efforts.

Final deliverables should include:

  • A detailed budget breakdown and comprehensive event plan.
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Our mission, values and goals
  • Our programs and fundraising events
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
