Details

Our company, Siraj, relies heavily on information technology (IT) services to manage data. We want to develop a roadmap for getting our IT assets and capabilities where they need to be to ensure future competitiveness and success in our industry.

We would like to collaborate with students to create a strategic information technology (IT) plan for Siraj based on a needs assessment.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  1. Familiarizing yourself with Sirajโ€™s mission and vision statements.
  2. Completing a needs assessment for Siraj.
  3. Researching industry / competitor IT trends and capabilities relevant to Siraj.
  4. Recommending processes for training and implementation of an IT plan at Siraj.
  5. Drafting budget and costs for an organization of Sirajโ€™s size.

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  1. Conducting a pilot program with the proposed IT plan at Siraj and making revisions.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Understanding of our mission and vision statements
  • Understanding of industry / competitor IT trends and capabilities
  • Recommendations for hardware, software, and IT human resources
  • Recommendations for possible training and implementation processes
  • Estimation of costs associated with the IT plan

Bonus steps would include:

  • Modifying the IT plan based on pilot testing.

Final deliverables should include

  • A final report.
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Our mission and vision statements
  • Our current IT services
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
