Details

TNT Pollination is seeking a fresh design for a leafcutter bee shelter to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of their pollination services. The current shelters, while functional, lack certain features that could optimize bee health and productivity. The goal of this project is to create a new shelter design that allows for more automation of shelter placement and storage, facilitates data collection and improves bee overall health and performance. This project provides an opportunity for learners to apply their knowledge of environmental science, biology, and design principles. The team will design a new shelter based on criteria provided by TNT Pollination. The project aims to balance functionality with cost-effectiveness, ensuring the design can be easily implemented by TNT Pollination.

Deliverables

The project deliverables include a detailed design proposal for a new leafcutter bee shelter, complete with sketches or digital models. The proposal should outline the materials to be used, the construction process, and the expected benefits of the new design. Additionally, a report summarizing the research findings on bee habitat needs and the rationale behind the design choices should be provided. The deliverables will demonstrate the team's ability to integrate scientific research with practical design solutions.
