Details

The Human Factor Community Organization is a not-for-profit which aims to elevate the status of humankind through programs, services, consulting community partners, and, where appropriate, advocacy in order to increase the health and well-being of the whole human and the communities where we live, play, and work.

We are seeking a student with the skills to create a plan for our organization. One that will allow The Human Factor Community Organization to effectively execute a fundraising auction.

This plan will explore the best practices of different types of auctions and will create the foundation to execute each.

The final presentation will be in report format with a clear plan and rationale explaining each part of the plan. Essentially, this plan should be able to be picked up by anybody and clearly understood.

Deliverables

Upon successful completion of this project, the student learner will have accomplished the following for The Human Factor Community Organization. The Auction Fundraising Plan will include the following:

  • An introduction which sets the tone of the plan
  • A description of the following types of auctions; online, silent, live
  • The best practices of successful auctions (each type)
  • What are the best items to be auctioned? Which items bring most value to organization and supporter.
  • Where is the best place to find these items?
  • What is the estimated value of these items?
  • Draft a solicitation letter
  • Plan for the various types of auctions; online, silent, live
  • Is there an auction type that more people respond to?
  • What are the personnel needed for each type?
  • Create a budget for each type
  • How should these auctions be advertised most effectively?
  • Do we need a lottery license to operate these auctions?
  • Include a summation of the report

Once completed, The Human Factor Community Organization will be able to use this plan to effectively execute a fundraiser auction.
