The program’s goal is to deliver peer wellness support to folks struggling with anxiety, OCD or depression. Our app houses a mechanism for a trained peer coach to provide care in the form of positive affirmations or provoking reflection through open-ended questions. The peer coach would also be responsible for moderating online support groups to ensure smooth and safe operations of online support groups.

Our peer coaches will receive training and mentorship to perform these tasks and achieve the program objectives.

1. Providing support to users through journaling - Responding to journal entries with positive affirmations or questions provoking reflection

2. Moderating support groups - providing structure to guided support group discussions, ensuring a smooth and safe experience for community members

3. Training from front-line managers - receive continuous upskilling for the provision of care

At Honest Empathy our executive team will offer one-on-one mentorship to each student and coach them throughout the project. We will begin by understanding the student’s professional and career goals and learn how this project can help them build skills to achieve those goals. We will create an action plan for the project's duration to help them gain the skills they want. We will have check-ins 2-3 times a week to work together, understand their progress, remove blockers and coach them. Team meetings will be conducted through Zoom and phone calls.

We will open our network to each student and make introductions for them to learn more about their desired field. At the end of the project, the student may receive the opportunity to continue a summer internship, based on performance.
