Positions available: 2 teams of 3 students per team.


The primary focus for the student will be: WAG Healing Sanctuary's overall mission is to promote mutual healing through the human-animal bond. Each project site will accomplish that mission in different ways and in response to commmunity needs: Animal companion-friendly Transitional living center for single moms with children, Foster kids program, human-animal bond retreat. We are looking for a HR intern who can help us develop a robust approach to recruitment sources, identifying candidates and establishing an employee development program that offers mutual benefit toward both retention and transition.

Our goal at the end of this experience is:

Identify hiring criteria for overall mission and tailored for 1-2 of the prospective project sites.

Identify staffing duties and responsibilities and prospective positions for start-up and projected in relation to increased funding and demand.

Identify ideal resources for recruitment.

Identify HR practices that would best support and develop employees.

Other duties the student may complete could include: literature review, HR policies relevant to mission and project sites, open to brainstorming essentials and other considerations

We Are Guardians Healing is a non-profit organization aimed at leveraging the relationship between human and non-human animals as well as nature toward mutual healing and growth. We are currently focused on developing a CA location for an animal companion friendly transitional living center individuals or couples. We want to designate our WA site to focus on foster work for animal companions of families of domestic violence. The initial human population focus will be veterans.
