Details

Our Biomedical Engineering Intern will remotely join our research and development team to contribute to cutting-edge work in bioelectricity and tissue modeling. The main objective is to help validate experimental data related to the conductivity and impedance of biological tissues, applying academic knowledge to real-world problems. The intern will develop skills in data analysis, model simulation, and biological system evaluation, all while supporting the team in integrating theoretical models with practical applications.

Activities and Tasks:

  • Analyze experimental data on tissue conductivity and impedance.
  • Create and test electrical models of hip tissue layers.
  • Work with scientists to ensure that the findings align with biomedical standards.
  • Collaborate during various stages of the research and development process.

Deliverables

To achieve the project goal, learners will need to complete several key tasks.

These include:

  • Data analysis: Review experimental results on the impedance and conductivity of human tissues, from the epidermis to bone cells.
  • Validation: Confirm these results using established biomedical standards and theoretical models.
  • Model Simulation: Develop a detailed electrical model of the hip tissue layers based on data and simulate the conductivity behavior of the tissue layers.
  • Electrical Parameters: Precisely determine the voltage and current to be applied during in vitro studies, ensuring these parameters meet safety and efficacy guidelines.

Refined deliverables:

  • A thorough analysis report on tissue conductivity and impedance from epidermis to bone.
  • A validated comparison of experimental findings with biomedical standards.
  • A simulated electrical model representing hip tissue layers.
  • A detailed specification sheet outlining safe electrical parameters for future studies.
