anthropometrics marketing research usability biomechanics health risk assessmentsStudents in groups of 3-5 will work with your company to identify ergonomic and usability metrics. They will provide quantitative biomechanical evaluations, usability and anthropometric assessments that would lead to recommendations and marketing material.
Project activities may include, but are not limited to:
- Understanding the market and intended use of the product, including literature review and product reviews.
- Identifying benefits or advantages of using this product.
- Identifying drawbacks or disadvantages of using this product. (SQDCME safety, quality, delivery, cost, Moral, environmental impact)
- Identifying the risk factors with and without the product and a summary of their observations from product reviews.
- Evaluations on comfort or discomfort related to the product tasks and uses.
- Evaluate the product compared to the current product and process - (biomechanics , anthropometry, and usability)
- Product evaluation / usability evaluation
Deliverables are negotiable, and will seek to align the needs of the students and the organization.
Some final project deliverables might include:
- A 10-15 minute presentation on key findings and recommendations
- A detailed report including their research, analysis, insights and recommendations
- Marketing material to support the use of your product
- A representative of the company will be available to answer questions from students in a timely manner for the duration of the project.
- A representative of the company will be available for a pre-selection discussion with the administrator of the course to review the project scope.
- The company will provide relevant information/data as needed for the project.
- The company will provide an opportunity for students to present their work and receive feedback.
- A physical product that the the students can evaluate will be available upon request.
