Details

Our organization is launching a new program with a minimal viable product (MVP) to start. This project would require students to review our current high-level mapping and create detailed MVP process workflows, as well as the full-scale process workflows for the broader program. In this project, students will evaluate our current processes, determine risks, optimize efficiency to eliminate friction and bottlenecks, create recommendations and prospective metrics, as well as new on-boarding materials. Based on research and best practices you will develop new workflows to ensure high-impact for the program.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Evaluating our current workflows by speaking with our team and reviewing all materials
  • Researching and applying industry-related best practices
  • Create proposed recommendations and metrics for monitoring and evaluating program impact
  • Developing on-boarding materials for program beneficiaries
  • Creating a final process workflows for both the MVP and full-scale program
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities (this is basically a retelling of the steps above):

  • Evaluated our current workflows by speaking with our team and reviewing all materials
  • Researched and applied industry-related best practices
  • Created proposed recommendations and metrics for monitoring and evaluating program impact
  • Developed on-boarding materials for program beneficiaries
  • Created a final process workflows for both the MVP and full-scale program

Bonus steps would include:

  • Development of detailed program implementation plan to include milestones and reporting gates

Final deliverables should include

  • Comprehensive workflows (complete diagrams in Visio, Excel, or other diagram tools) for both the MVP and full-scale program requirements.
  • On-boarding materials for program beneficiaries.
  • A report with all research, metrics, recommended solutions, and an implementation plan.
  • A 30-min presentation on final materials.
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • What are the program goals and targeted beneficiaries?
  • What is the anticipated size, scope, timeline, geographic focus, etc.?
  • What tools and technology will be available for implementation?

Goal Beyond is a non-profit organization, founded in 2021 and based in San Diego, CA, with a mission to create the ecosystem enabling all learners to access a quality education and employers to source talent in a rapidly evolving labor market. Our strategy focuses on four core themes to empower learners along the entire continuum of their academic and professional paths. The Beyond 9-12 program is geared towards high school students who are charting out their collegiate or vocational pathway and who require tools and resources to demystify and support the process (e.g., FAFSA completion, scholarships, financial planning, etc.). The Beyond Higher Ed. program is centered on the transition from academics to the professional world with CTE certification, workforce upskilling training, and scholarships. The Beyond Restart program is designed for adult learners who need a fresh start – whether that is returning to school (e.g., stranded credits, financing support, etc.), changing career paths, or repairing their credit to build a path towards financial solvency and growth through our economic mobility initiatives. The Beyond Talk program is about activating the broader higher education ecosystem through our own research and collaborative efforts with our affiliated partners, engaging in relevant forums and conferences to increase visibility of our work and relevant partnerships, as well as advocating for applicable policy reforms aimed at increasing access and equity for all learners.
