Students:

  • To write a Business Model Canvas for Adaptive Concepts LLC
  • To conduct company and associated industry research to draft a business plan to be transferred to a Business Model Canvas.
  • To use a customer focused LEAN canvas.
  • To provide a business model with an opportunity for multiple business models as appropriate.

Company:

  • To provide a dedicated contact person for weekly/bi-weekly drop-ins to address students’ questions as well as periodic messages over the duration of the project.
  • To be available for a quick phone/virtual call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
  • To provide an opportunity for students to present their work and receive feedback.
  • To provide relevant information/data as needed for the project.

The project is relevant to the course as it provides students with experiential learning in a real-world business environment with a Michigan-based emerging technology development company.

Deliverables

Our goal at the end of this experience is:

  • For students to gain experience identifying company needs and providing actionable recommendations based on research and analysis.
  • For students to provide a business model canvas as a one-page snapshot of a full-blown marketing plan.
  • In addition to the business model, the company will get three proformas: cash flow, income statement, and balance sheet, and perhaps start-up costs.
  • For students to understand the process for conducting business-related research, competitive analysis and business strategy.

What would your company get at the end of the course?

Deliverables (negotiable) will seek to align the needs of the students and the company.

Final project deliverables might include:

1. An analysis of which business model will be best suited for their new or existing innovation.

2. A PESTLE and a SWOT analysis in addition to a determination of which model is best suited (Each block within the BMC will be thoroughly explained).

Mentorship

Students will work closely with the primary project manager who is supervising and available for questions. This will also include occasional progress meetings where adjustments to the students' tasks and duties can be made if necessary.

We will plan to communicate with our virtual intern using these communication tools: Zoom, Email, Phone, Text

Student's primary contact: David W. Clark, P.E., President

Secondary contact: Robert Bolton, P.E.
