This position reports into the National Managers, Community Events. In this capacity you will be responsible for supporting logistical and administrative elements of our in-person Autism Speaks Canada Walk and Walk on Wheels Clubs across Canada. Logistical responsibilities will include sourcing and implementing event day requirements and activities for volunteers and contractors to execute at the event ie. “Walk logistics in a box”. You may be called upon to support other community campaigns as required.

PRIMARY Responsibilities

· Create a fun celebratory experience for our in-person Walks and Walk on Wheels Car Parades. Event day activities should be fun, safe (following all covid protocols for the community) and be sensory friendly.

· Research and secure venues for all Walks and Walk on Wheels events taking into consider event size and cost.

· Responsible for arranging event day rentals, deliveries, pick-ups with volunteers/contractors

· Develop safe walking and driving routes; 3kms

· Identify new and/or work with existing vendors/performers etc to minimize event day expenditures.

· Understands the importance of the volunteer-staff partnership and integrates the value of philanthropy and volunteerism in dealings with staff and volunteers.

· Recruit and resource event day volunteers for the Walk events and support of Walk on Wheels.

· Manage timelines for each event to ensure deadlines are met.

· Executes in partnership with volunteer community leaders the event day logistics component

· Work closely with Community Managers to monitor campaign expense budgets

· Responsible for administrative duties related to event insurance, ordering and deliveries and preparation of event day boxes and detailed event day schedules.

· Flexibility as required to attend community meetings to provide logistics updates

· Attend Walk events (as applicable and pending location) to support day of execution.

· Other duties as assigned supporting the growth and commitment to our mission.

Mentorship

National Manager/Community Events will be supervising and mentoring the student in all related activities. The student will be fully integrated in all ASC activities as full member of the team.
