Details

Our organization is committed to supporting the local disability community. However, we are currently facing challenges with manpower to create the vision for our second annual event - The Beyond Barriers Networking and Tradeshow, that will be held on September 21, 2024.

We would like to collaborate with students to plan an event to help meet our goal of supporting and creating awareness for the disability community. The role takes a proactive approach to the planning, delivery, and administrative responsibilities necessary to support the tactical implementation of the event.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Familiarizing themselves with our mission, values and goals.
  • Estimating and establishing the budget of the event.
  • Assisting in creating a plan of action and a detailed breakdown of tasks to complete at the event.
  • Assisting in marketing and promoting our event.
  • Assisting in the process of planning the event with other event team members from the volunteer event team.

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  • Recommending improvements for future events.

Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Understanding of our mission, values and goals
  • Establishment of the event budget
  • Creation of a plan of action
  • Take action to carry out the plan and schedule

Bonus steps would include:

  • Recommending areas of improvement for future events

Final deliverables should include

  • A budget breakdown and event planning schedule with tasks completed and to be completed.
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Our mission, values and goals
  • Our programs and fundraising events
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
