marketing research marketingStudent teams from Saskatchewan Polytechnic will work with your organization to conduct marketing research on specific marketing research objectives and provide a written report and presentation summarizing their findings.
Students
Phase 1 – Project Plan: Students will connect with organization representative(s) to devise the project scope and prepare a detailed proposal for completion of the project.
Phase 2 – Project Execution: Students will conduct research as detailed in the proposal. Teams will periodically communicate with organization representative(s) as needed to complete project tasks.
Phase 3 – Outcome: Students will submit a report and present their key findings to the organization.
The final project deliverable will include a 10-page report and a 15 minute presentation summarizing their key findings.

Project Examples
Requirements
Beginning in October, student-consultants in teams of 4 or 5 will spend time learning about your organization and your marketing research problem. You will consult with the students to establish specific research objectives. Students will create a proposal for the research to be completed. The expectation is that the students will use a quantitative method (survey) and a qualitative method (focus group or other method) to gather information. Students will enter the quantitative data into SPSS and analyze the results. The student team will create a detailed report and presentation summarizing their key findings. Students will then present the results to representatives from your organization. Each team will be assigned a different organization to work with. If the scope of the project is larger, the class may work with one organization with each team being assigned a specific research objective.

- Selecting target markets
- Product research
- Pricing research
- Promotion research
- Distribution research

Additional company criteria
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Attend student presentations (in person or using Zoom software)
Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students’ questions.
Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
Minimum 2 – 4 interactions with the students remotely (approximately 4 – 6 hours over the duration of the project).
Provide feedback to student teams during check-in meetings and in response to students’ email check-ins, to ensure teams are on the right track and expectations are aligned.
