Siraj Institute is celebrating its sixth anniversary and we are expanding!

We seeking an articulate, persuasive intern to join our grant writing project. This position is responsible for researching and writing of proposals online. The person will report directly to the executive director.

The primary focus for the student will revolve around the following:

  • Researching grants: Student takes the time to determine which grants to apply for based on the demographic, scope, and qualifications of the application.
  • Creating proposals: Student creatively explains a company's compelling causes and why they're important. The proposals should be accurate and informational but should stand out, motivate, and persuade the reader to award the grant to our institute.
  • Communicating with clients and donors: prospective donors often have questions for the institute after the initial application. The student should answer any questions they have to continue advocating for the company.
Deliverables

Our goal at the end of this experience is:

  • Research- For the student(s) to help us identify opportunities for funding; for the student(s) to help us organize the necessary documents that are required for eligibility; for the student(s).
  • Application - For the student(s) to help us write excellent proposals that are both accurate and creative; for the student(s) to work with a supervisor in timely manner to review, modify, finalize; and submit the proposal.
  • Communications - For the student(s) to reach out to donours, effectively promote our brand, mission, and story. Send follow up emails, and thank you notes.
Mentorship

Students will work closely with the executive director who is supervising and available for questions. This will also include weekly progress meetings where adjustments to the students' tasks and duties can be made if necessary.

We will plan to communicate with our virtual intern using these communication tools: Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp and email
