Currently, code call events are entered into multiple systems, leading to duplication of work, potential inefficiencies, and questions around the purpose and value of each reporting requirement.
The aim of this project is to evaluate the current reporting process, understand the rationale behind each step, and apply Lean principles to streamline the workflow. This will help eliminate waste, reduce duplication, improve data accuracy, and support more efficient reporting practices aligned with organizational quality and safety goals.
The student will collaborate with the Quality and Security teams to:
- Current state process map of how code calls are reported across systems
- Identification of gaps, redundancies, and non-value-added steps
- Stakeholder engagement to understand the purpose and usage of each report/system
- Application of Lean methodology (e.g., 5 Whys, value stream mapping)
- Recommendations for an improved, streamlined process
- Final report and presentation outlining findings and a proposed future-state workflow
This project will support operational efficiency, promote better use of staff time, and align with organizational Lean improvement goals. The project will be conducted in a hybrid format, with onsite components for interviews and observations as needed.
