Our team is looking for a technologically savvy student who can help us prepare for our upcoming Canadian Rural and Remote Housing and Homelessness Symposium! The student will be responsible for coordinating the pre-recording of sessions for the event, and ensuring everyone has the appropriate technology. This includes:

  • Coordinating logistics and scheduling with our presenters to pre-record their sessions;
  • Pre-recording sessions virtually with presenters (this is done in a Zoom meeting, by recording the meeting);
  • Ensuring all presenters have the necessary technology and internet access during the pre-recording session, and troubleshooting as needed. RDN can provide support as well if more extensive solutions are needed.

Virtual events have become a necessity during COVID, and the trend of virtual events will continue into the future. Through this role, the student will gain valuable experience in the virtual event space, with both digital skills and overall event coordination. Becoming familiar with the inner workings of a virtual event platform is a valuable skill that can be transferred to other organizations and events. They will also gain communications, teamwork, & client service skills, by working with presenters to pre-record content. Being responsible for this aspect of the event (with support from RDN), they will gain leadership experience, be required to demonstrate initiative, and take responsibility for ensuring things run smoothly from a technical standpoint.

Deliverables:

  1. Coordinate meeting times with all presenters.
  2. Pre-record their presentations in a Zoom meeting. We expect approximately 40 presentations.
