communication research fundraisingWILD Awakenings runs a women's camp called Camp WILD and has a bursary program for women who identify as Black, Indigenous or Women of Colour and for whom the cost a barrier to participation. We are trying to find creative ways to raise money for this bursary, including monthly events.
We would like to collaborate with students to develop a fundraising plan to meet our goals.
This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Familiarizing themselves with our mission, values and goals.
- Conducting background research on fundraising strategies.
- Recommending suitable fundraising strategies and creating a timeline / calendar of these activities.
- A plan for implementing some of those ideas (for example, communicating with local vendors, pricing out an event, figuring out an online silent auction, etc.)
By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:
- Understanding of our mission, values and goals
- Understanding of our fundraising history
- Understanding of fundraising strategies used by similar organizations
- Creation of a fundraising plan
- Detail plan on how to implementing new fundraising activities
Final deliverables should include
- A final report with a new fundraising plan.
Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:
- Our mission, values and goals
- Our previous fundraising activities
- Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
