This report is deeply thoughtful and well-researched, offering critical insight into how coercive control operates in Cuba through state, cultural, and community mechanisms. The students asked big, important questions about the cultural limits of FIA’s archetypes and expanded our understanding of coercion as more than interpersonal—it can be systemic and ideological. However, they stopped short of naming or defining any new coercive control archetypes, which was a key part of the assignment. With that one missing element, the report stands as a strong and insightful foundation—but not a complete archetype analysis. Still, this work meaningfully advances the conversation, and we hope to see these ideas developed further.
