May '21 Build first MVP of Growth Hacking Training & Project Management Platform
Positions available: 1 student Our organization is able to offer a virtual internship opportunity for up to one student interested in working on growth hacking from a product development perspective of designing and developing products using iterative, MVP-oriented, user needs, feedback-loop oriented methods in a real-world startup environment, including experience working in an entreprenural startup, be part of launching a new product, or supporting startups, and learning to use the "growth hacking" mindset on marketing and developing and selling products and services. For more details about all that "Growth Hacking" entails, please refer to Wikipedia : Growth Hacking is a relatively new field in marketing focused on growth, coined by Sean Ellis in 2010, after using it to ignite breakout growth for Dropbox, LogMeIn, Eventbrite & Lookout. It started in relation to early-stage startups who need massive growth within a short time on tight budgets, and also reached bigger corporate companies. The goal is to rapidly test ideas that can improve the customer journey, and replicate and scale the ideas that work and modify or abandon the ones that don't before investing a lot of resources. A growth hacking team is made up of marketers, developers, engineers and product managers that specifically focus on building and engaging the user base of a business. Growth hacking is not just a tool for marketers. It can be applied to new product innovation and to the continuous improvement of products as well as to growing an existing customer base. As such, it’s equally useful to everyone from product developers, to engineers, to designers, to salespeople, The company founder is in the process of publishing an academic paper on a proprietary growth hacking aligned methodology, and has also identified that growth hacking is a missing component in many student's academic learning. In developing quality internship opportunities, Dr. Edwards has also identified that developing software aligned with these needs could help expand the use of her proprietary method while also creating a software-assisted mechanism to help companies better work with interns by providing a framework for the internship/learning experience. The intern or team will work with Dr. Edwards to build and launch the first minimum viable product (MVP) and learn to "think lean" when it comes to rapid prototyping and product launching. Time allowing, will also practice gathering and integrating user feedback in design process development. Student(s) should leave the internship at minimum with a live MVP product completed that can be added to their portfolio. A team could include students with complementary back-end development versus front-end design/UX and marketing skills, whereas a single individual would need to straddle these two roles with guidance from Dr. Edwards The individual will receive mentorship and instruction on all tasks to be accomplished via asynchronous and live virtual training from Dr. Edwards, who has 20+ years experience in entrepreneurship and small businesses and has managed marketing, growth, product planning, and sales growth of products in multiple product categories with a focus in technology-oriented startups & small businesses.
