Personal projects

Traffic Light Controller | VHDL, Intel Quartus Prime, FPGA
July 2024 - Current

Developed a Traffic Light Controller using Quartus Prime that employs Moore machine design to manage traffic light sequences with precise timing and synchronization.

Designed VHDL modules for synchronizers and holding registers to interface asynchronous pedestrian crossing requests, integrating these inputs safely into the traffic light control sequence to accommodate real-world scenarios.

Implemented synchronous design to eliminate metastability, ensuring robust operation of the state machine by using a common global clock for all sequential logic registers.

Robotic Arm
April 2024 - Current

• Engineered a 3-axis jointed robotic arm, using Arduino and servos, with ability for 360° rotation around the palm
• Utilized servos to develop a force vector within that allowed for the pick-up of 5kg objects & 20cm diameter

Robotic Dog With AI
February 2024 - Current

Working with Siemens NX, Python, inverse dynamics, and machine shop techniques to create an AI-powered robotic dog capable of fetching and playing

Smart Pill Dispenser
November 2023 - Current

• Developed a pill dispenser using C++, STM32 controllers and 3D printers integrated with temperature & humidity sensors for medication/dosage reminders bought by a local pharmacy
• Optimized the system using a resistor divider circuit to ensure accurate voltage measurement and to avoid damage to the microcontroller caused by input higher than 5 Volts

FIRST Robotics Robot
November 2022 - March 2023

• Wrote Python code enabling real-time colour recognition with an I2C sensor to enable autonomous parking
• Used SolidWorks & machine tools to design and fabricate a chassis, robotic claw, arm lift and a mecanum drivetrain
• Programmed the Allen-Bradley CompactLogix 5370 for servo control & a teleoperated mode
