We want to better understand our the changing landscape of domestic terror and international terror organizations, as well as the overall risk factors and signals so we can uniquely identify cross-chatter between white supremacist; ISIS and anarchist organizations. This is a follow on from published research in 2018's US Army Cyber Defense Review. Meme and Stan Online Influence Marketing Assessment Study

From the current Russia: Ukraine, Israel: Gaza, Latin American and Central African conflicts - we have seen the rise of Meme and Stan subgroup influence marketing online achieving a level of impact that is unprecedented since WW2. Please note: we will be taking an Academic approach to this analysis, with no preference or inclination shown to any conflict State or participant group. The goal is specifically to better understand the changing nature of online Propaganda today. The course of this study will be divided across three phases: Phase 1: Participating students will develop batteries of Influence, Meme and Audience targeting by conflict region; highlighting Meme and influence trends, as well as identify the voracity of specific content and its' consumption audiences. Content Batteries will be reviewed based on group / country / agency of origin Meme and Content batteries will be discussed and compared / contrasted - as well as questions asked to develop content tagging and categorization (pro, con, influence, etc) Phase 2: Ideally one or more students will possess experience with R or Python - outside of the general business acumen necessary to search, identify and sort content. A set number of Meme and Content categories will be identified for deeper dives Platforms from Reddit to X, Meta and TikTok will be queries through APIs User impact and voracity metrics will be developed An Assessment will be completed by Students. Phase 3: Once we have defined specific content Universes and Actors by Conflict - we will be able outline Messaging impact and narrative impact Findings will be completed and collated into a study outline with a fair selection of content from the research. Final findings will be included, with notation given to Students participating; and will be published in an Academic Journal.
