Bio

I am Somnoma Valerie Ouedraogo and holds a Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Kassel (Germany). My areas of expertise are culturally grounded social work education and practice (1) and social work and conflicts in the fields of environmental social work, migration, integration, and refugee work (2). When I think about social work practice, I have social action as framework in my mind; to me culturally inclusive social work curricula and practices are determinant once it comes to implement social action. I am curious and passionate about International Indigenization and Afrocentricity as intellectual movement, activism, and knowledge development.
