Entrepreneurial Marketing Fall 2022
MKT310
Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from Northern Michigan University to be your student-consultants, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one main project over the course of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. This is a 300-level course in which the students learn how to identify a "lead" customer. This is not granular work. We will identify the lead customer, describe what that person looks like, and then write a short marketing plan on how to reach that person, what the positioning of the product is, and how to message the product to the customer. This is for the early start-up stage of product marketing. The company will be able to identify to whom to sell the product first and then how to position it so that it is easily described and understood. There will be a marketing plan that briefly discusses the market and the industry.

Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from Northern Michigan University to be your student-consultants, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one main project over the course of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students will be writing Business Model Canvases. The class will take a start-up business, do some industry research, and do a business plan which will then be transferred over to a Business Model Canvas. They will be using a LEAN canvas which focuses more on the customer rather than the product, but they are very similar. The company will get a business model for their product. Depending on how the company goes to market might determine if they will get a couple of business models.
