Sprint to Innovate presented by Access Credit Union brings together students of various disciplines (technology, business, entrepreneurship, etc) from Manitoba post-secondary institutions (students from our international partner institutes will be invited to participate as well) to learn about innovation, and collaborate in a fun and exciting challenge to build a minimum viable prototype for you in just two days (the weekend of January 27 to 29, 2023). Sprint to Innovate is about learning innovation, being innovative, building deeper relationships, problem-solving and developing solutions to real business challenges. With this knowledge, students know to apply a variety of tools and techniques used in the management of projects in contemporary challenges faced by organizations.
Social Innovation Capstone Project

Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from Red River College Polytechnic - Indigenous Education to be your student-consultants, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one main capstone project over the course of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students in this program/course will be participating in a consulting experience in which students work with client organizations operating in the social innovation and community development sector. In small groups, using the latest project management tools and agile leadership procedures, students will address the client's challenge creating an opportunity for expansion, scale, or greater efficacy or innovation.
Building design and materials - Environmental Sustainability and Efficiency

Students learn how a building functions and reacts to its environment and to improve its efficiency and durability. Students will investigate the effects that the movement of air, heat, moisture and wind has on the building envelope. They will be able to describe critical components such as insulating materials, air and vapour barriers, their use, applications and properties. They will discover the importance of indoor air quality and methods to improve it. Students will perform basic calculations to determine ventilation, thermal properties, and properties of air/water vapour mixtures. An investigation into a variety of building envelope solutions for cold climates will provide case studies, and opportunity for application and analysis.

Game Development Programming/Game Development Art
Students bring together art and programming skills in teams to help your company solve game development bottlenecks whilst also addressing areas of visual design. Students are capable of 3D animation and have covered a broad base of disciplines within the game development field. They are well versed in C++ and can design programs that make use of it. They are also able to analyze production workflows, apply logic to automating tasks, design and produce automated procedures, and can design pixel art characters. The internship needs to run from May through to no later than Mid-August.
