Bio

I am the founder of Fyto Autonomous Firefighting Inc. A California-based technology company that pairs a patented sprinkler system with advanced artificial intelligence systems to protect homeowners from wildfires.
Prior to founding Fyto, I was the Director of Product for Quantgene where I built and launched the Serenity at-home cancer detection system (www.chooseserenity.com).
Concurrently I have served as a specialist advisor to the Project Management Institute since 2017, with a specific focus on enhancing younger talent in the profession.
I have been a product leader since 2014 and a system engineer between 2007 and 2014.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Management and Law degree from the London School of Economics (at UOL) and a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation degree from USC's Marshall School of Business.

Wildfire tracking and prediction satellite design

Fyto has a number of existing technological innovations which rely heavily on external satellite data and these satellites are very out of date in terms of their detection capabilities. Fyto would like to design a low-cost satellite that will continually monitor the earth for markers and wildfire risk. The goal of this project is to design and build a satellite that can scan the Earth for wildfires. The satellite will be equipped with various sensors, including infrared cameras and thermal imaging sensors, to detect and locate active wildfires. It will also have the ability to transmit real-time data and images to ground stations. The satellite will be placed in a low Earth orbit, allowing it to cover a large area of the Earth's surface

iOS app for Fyto Autonomous Wildfire Protection systems

The goal of this project is to design and develop an iOS app for active wildfire monitoring and alerts, and controlling automated wildfire defense technology. The app will be designed to work in conjunction with a satellite-based wildfire detection system, which will provide real-time data and images of active wildfires. The app will display this information on a map, showing the location and size of the fire, as well as other relevant information such as wind direction and speed. The app will also have the ability to send push notifications to users in the vicinity of an active wildfire, providing them with critical information and alerts. Users will also have the option to set custom alerts based on location, distance, and other factors. In addition to providing information about active wildfires, the app will also have the ability to remotely control automated wildfire defense technology, such as fire-retardant dispensing drones, and other firefighting equipment.

Create an early warning system for homeowners of approaching wildfires

Fyto Autonomous Firefighting is a California-based wildfire protection company. Our mission is to end the destruction of private property caused by wildfires with a specific focus on California and the neighboring states. As the problem of wildfires grows in scale each year, the risk to homeowners and insurers rises. As the risk rises, insurers withdraw their policies from homeowners with properties in the WUI (wildland urban interface). Redfin estimates that 4.5 million homes will not have insurance against wildfires by the end of 2022. In this project, we would like to create a system that can send an alert to the smartphone of a homeowner if their address is found to be in the path of an active wildfire. The criteria for this system will need to be closely defined with stakeholders, but example requirements are: 1. Is an active wildfire < 5 miles from the registered property address? 2. What environmental factors are being calculated to determine the path of the fire? 3. Is there a low, medium or high probability that the fire will reach their property? 4. Provide an alert when the fire reaches the property. Data to build this system are freely available from various sources. We would need to look at multiple sources to build an accurate system. Some data is given here (not a full list): https://github.com/datadesk/california-fire-zone-analysis https://blogs.bing.com/maps/2018-06/microsoft-releases-125-million-building-footprints-in-the-us-as-open-data https://firms.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/usfs/ Some additional information: 1. https://www.latimes.com/projects/la-me-california-buildings-in-fire-zones/

Create a wildfire risk score for US homeowners

Fyto Autonomous Firefighting is a California-based wildfire protection company. Our mission is to end the destruction of private property caused by wildfires with a specific focus on California and the neighboring states. As the problem of wildfires grows in scale each year, the risk to homeowners and insurers rises. As the risk rises, insurers withdraw their policies from homeowners with properties in the WUI (wildland urban interface). Redfin estimates that 4.5 million homes will not have insurance against wildfires by the end of 2022. In this project, we would like to create a system whereby we can calculate the wildfire destruction risk of a specific home. Deliverables for this project are: Determine a list of addresses, or, if that's not possible, then a list of zip codes that are no longer covered by full wildfire insurance Create a wildfire risk score for homeowners. This will consist of evaluating publicly available data to determine the risk index for an address or zip code. For example, a risk score of 90/100 would be a very high risk of wildfire damage within 5 years. These metrics can be defined further and are flexible. You can learn more about our company and products in the attached files and resources.
