Internship with My Student Wellbeing
The goal of an internship with My Student Wellbeing is to have students engage in tasks that offer new learning experiences and help advance the mission of the organization. Students can work on varying projects based on the interests of the students and needs of the organization.
Develop Health Practice Management System
My Student Wellbeing is seeking to develop a custom health practice management system software tailored specifically for student health services. Current off the shelf options lack the customizability for our organization. The goal of this project is to create or provide the road map for a user-friendly, secure, and efficient software solution that streamlines identified processes (booking, filtering, video sessions, invoice data, payment portal), ultimately improving the overall experience for both healthcare providers and students. The project could involve tasks such as designing the user interface, developing backend functionalities, and integrating necessary security measures to protect sensitive health information. This project will allow learners to apply their knowledge of software development, database management, and cybersecurity in a real-world context. This project can work for a course that can be more theoretical in nature, where student(s) provide us with a roadmap or suggestions on how we can get this developed (what platforms could we use, what languages, what security processes to implement) or it can be more practical where student(s) can actually work on the code to put it together.
Help us improve our branding and marketing! :)
My Student Wellbeing is dedicated to improving the lives of post-secondary students across the country through increasing support to mental health services and providing other information and resources to improve lives. However, to reach a broader audience and make a more significant impact, we need to improve our branding and marketing strategies. The goal of this project can include analyzing the current branding and marketing efforts, identifying areas for improvement, and/or developing actionable strategies to enhance our presence. This could involve evaluating existing social media channels, website content, and overall brand messaging. The project aims to create a cohesive and compelling brand identity that resonates with students and encourages them to engage with My Student Wellbeing's services. We are flexible in terms of what this project could look like for students, so anyone looking for anything related to branding, marketing, graphic design, media creation, or anything else that seems like it could be a fit for your students is encouraged to reach out to us to discuss if we could tailor a project to give your students an incredible learning experience. Helping facilitate social connections amongst post-secondary students
Hey there! Super excited to have you reading this. My Student Wellbeing is looking to address the struggles that post-secondary students and young adults face in terms of developing new friendships. There's lots of opportunities to socialize, yet lots of students struggle to develop friendships and they struggle with loneliness. We want to change this! We're looking for students to provide innovative strategies for us to help create opportunities for students to develop new connections and friendships.
Mobile App Development for My Student Wellbeing
The main goal for the project is to create a mobile app that links users to the My Student Wellbeing website. The app would later include information to educate post-secondary students in Canada on their mental health and wellbeing, as well as provide a platform where students can connect with mental health clinicians for one to one virtual counseling. This project proposal can be taken in a few different ways depending on the scope of the course project. It can focus on coding the app, designing the UI, or brainstorming the type of content that would be beneficial to have on this app. This could involve several different steps for the students, including: - Understanding the goals and mission of My Student Wellbeing. - Designing and developing the mobile app interface. - Integrating features to provide mental health information and connect students with mental health clinicians. - Ensuring the app is user-friendly and accessible for post-secondary students. - Planning for the future transition of the website to a mobile app.
City Activity App
The main goal for the project is to create an app that allows users to upload different restaurants and activities in each city, and to allow people to create an account which will enable them to explore different attractions they can attend and check off each one, or check off from a list of activities they're interested in. There could be a group feature where more than one user can have a group where they can add events or restaurants they would like to check out at some point. Users can then indicate if they would like to visit the location again or if not and it would be removed from the list of what they want to check out. The intent here is to create a platform that makes it easy for people to explore their city and find things they're interested in (and even maybe a community they re-visit over and over).
In House Software Development
The main goal for the project is to explore the feasibility of developing in house software for My Student Wellbeing, as opposed to using third party software. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: - Understanding the current software being used and its limitations. - Researching the requirements and potential features for in house software. - Analyzing the potential costs and resources needed for in house software development. - Developing a prototype or proof of concept for the in house software or providing the blueprint for us to understand how we can move forward with an in house solution - Testing the prototype and gathering feedback from stakeholders. - Presenting a feasibility report with recommendations for moving forward. The type of software is a project management software for a health practice, where health providers can set their schedule, clients can book with them and search for a relevant provider, there would be integrated video sessions, automated invoicing, billing features, and more. Will need to create different user permissions based on the role of the user. More information about the software can be provided.

My Student Wellbeing Social Networking Application
The main goal of this project is to create a social networking application for university students, where students can join digital communities for their classes or events on campus, so they can see who else is in that class or event and connect with them if they would like. Imagine attending an event where you can message other people attending the event who have similar interests to you or where you don't have to worry about going alone because you've already met someone digitally who also is looking for someone to attend the event with or where you can see active student groups on campus for you to join a community of like minded people! The intended outcome is to better create community on campuses and make it easier for people to make friends (because it can be tough to make new friends as an adult). We have some working code, but we need people to improve on the code and also come up with a nice user design for us to create a nice experience for all users. This project could include several different components for the students, depending on the specifics of the course, such as: - Improving the existing code and making sure it is optimized for performance. - Designing a user interface that is intuitive and easy to use. - Developing a secure system for user authentication and data storage. - Researching and implementing features that will improve the user experience. - Testing the application for bugs and ensuring it is secure.
Promoting My Student Wellbeing
The main goal of this project is to identify industry trends and get ideas on how to move forward to grow My Student Wellbeing into something that will help students across Canada. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: - Researching the current mental health landscape in Canada. - Identifying key trends in the industry. - Developing a marketing and advertising strategy that will reach the target audience. - Researching other variables that can improve the reach of the platform. - Developing a social media strategy to promote the platform. However, we're pretty flexible to tailor this project based on your course. We'd love to jump on a call with you to discuss what your course is looking for in a project and how we can ensure your students get the most value by working with us.
Young Adult Handbook
Hey there! Excited for you to review my proposal. My Student Wellbeing is an organization founded in Manitoba with the goal of improving post-secondary student wellbeing across the country. We're looking to create a small handbook for young adults on the basic things you would want to know in life. It could include sections on communication, relationships, financial literacy, healthy eating, how to take care of your mental health, and anything else that would be good for a young adult to know that they don't often teach in school.
Marketing, Business, or HR (we're open to really anything!)
Hey there! My Student Wellbeing is a new organization founded by a Canadian student with the purpose of improving post-secondary students' lives by connecting students to valuable resources and services. Right now we're focused on mental health services but have the vision to expand into more holistic service offerings. Utilizing Riipen to connect with students to hear their input is incredibly valuable. We're open to really any type of course, as any insights we can get are incredibly valuable. If your course is focused on marketing plans, market analytics, advertising, or anything else remotely related to marketing (or even business) I'd be happy to connect with you so we can come up with a mutually beneficial project. Looking forward to hearing from ya!
Accounting Needs
Hey there! My Student Wellbeing is an online platform where post-secondary students in Canada can find a private mental health therapist, who takes their student insurance, for timely online mental health counselling. This project is to assist us in organizing our accounting by creating journal entries for our finances over the past few months and providing recommendations on how we can better organize our finances. A student would be provided with the financial records (expenses and revenues) to attempt to get our books to balance.
Networking Application
The main goal for this project is to develop a protoype or functioning mobile (or web based) application which makes it easy for people to network in events. An event host would be able to create an event or we (the company) can create the event for the event host after they have paid a subscription fee. An attendee of the event could then log into the event using a QR code/log in provided by the event organizer which gives the attendee access to create a profile, have access to a chat lounge with all other attendees, be able to privately message other attendees, and create sub groups which any attendee can join to talk about a certain topic. The event host can have a page where they can promote information to all attendees.

We're looking for a group of students who can help us figure out how we can offer nutrition related services or products to students, considering the limited spending students have and our desire to minimize the barrier for students to access services or products which can improve their lives. Innovation is highly encouraged and we are open to new ideas as we grow our organization!

Development of Mental Health Therapy Practice Management Software
Hi! My Student Wellbeing is a brand new organization looking to make an impact by improving the wellbeing of post-secondary students across Canada. We're interested in building out and utilizing (or at least exploring the option so we know how much we need to earn to pivot to this new customized solution) a customized practice management ecosystem to handle everything from a clinician directory, scheduling, attending secure appointments, and billing. Market Analysis
Hi! As post-secondary students, you have a strong awareness of the struggles associated with being a post-secondary student My Student Wellbeing is a new organization, founded in Manitoba, Canada, designed to connect post-secondary students in Canada with qualified mental health clinicians for one to one counselling. Although there are many resources out there for mental health, there is still many students going without getting the help they need. We are looking for students to help us understand our positioning and how we can best promote our services to students across the country.
Development of HR System / Process
My Student Wellbeing is a brand new organization in Canada designed to provide content to post-secondary students to improve their mental health/wellbeing, while also providing them with access to licensed mental health therapists for virtual one to one counselling. As of this proposal, the business only consists of the Founder (who hold the position as CEO). As funding allows, the business will grow to include admin assistants, marketing manager, content writers, clinical support, HR director, and other positions as needed. The main service offering is the virtual mental health counselling which will be provided by independent contractor therapists. As they are independent contractors, they cannot be directed to attend staff meetings or engage with the business, thus making it complicated to create a culture within the company. It would be ideal to create a sense of community within the businesses, aligning all parties with the joint mission and vision of My Student Wellbeing. In order to get the right people involved with the organization, the messaging will need to be clear from the point of job postings, through interviewing, through onboarding, and throughout operations. There will need to be a delicate balance of business policy and the freedom required for an independent contractor, but also having policies and structure for the employees. As the business grows and develops, having any HR structure, policies, or guidance will help make growth more seamless and lead to having the culture we want. We would love to have any insights or input from knowledgeable students on how we can set up our organization for success through proper HR practices.
